Does anyone recall my post from this event staged last year?

http://www.bikemeet.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5547

Well its less than a couple of weeks until this years event, so the question is......does anyone else care to go along too? After all its been AGES since we last had a Forum ride out.

Organising club is Aberman MCC, its actually a 2 day event, entrance fee £12.20 but a quid is knocked off if you print out and present the voucher.

Boys and Girls, any takers?

Just looked and it's on 18th & 19th July. I unfortunately can't do those days but I remember your post and the brilliant track in the forest, would love to go. Hope some others will be interested.

Well even though the weather was forecast to be wet both myself and my girlfriend Kath decided we'd be going regardless, so the 1000 remained tucked in the garage in the dry, and as the 600 was already unwashed from attending the Renault World Series at Silverstone two weeks previous that would be the weapon of choice for the day. My mate Goff decided upon his Street Triple as against his VFR400. We set off in the drizzle but that fizzled away to nothing and all was dry as we headed out from Kidderminster through Bromyard and Hereford on towards Abergavenny, that latter road the A465 is an absolute cracker with long straight stretches and long fast bends what a joy if plod isn't about! After Abergavenny it was the Heads of the Valleys road and thats when the rain started which was torrential at times but for some strange reason the moisture on this occasion didn't get through any of the gear I was wearing. Into Aberdare and bikes stored in a secure compound (actually a little theatre car park)for £3 and what bike gear you didn't wish to carry around left securely for a further £1 (All your gear if the weather is dry and sunny if you take additional shorts, T-shirt, trainers etc) and then just a quarter mile walk into the park, having nipped into one of the locals if your partial. £11 entrance fee and we were in. Very few spectators attended this year due to the poor weather conditions which was a great pity as this little jewel of an event is most enjoyable and unspoiled by the trappings of our modern times (I guess H & S must be on the back burner) I'll leave the report here and just let the pics show what the event has to offer. The rain persisted for most of the day with just the odd sunny interval, non of which dried the circuit which remained wet all day. The last race of the day had to be red flagged due to a large pool of water collecting on the racing line due to a downpour which is apparent in my last shot. Yes I will be going again next year, any takers?

That's some rain! Excellent photos, some of the shots look a bit surreal with the trees hanging overhead.
